Whether it be from working behind the scenes or physical strength- it doesn't matter who you are and what you do, people won't dare mess with you. Doesn't need to be violent, either.
Most 'friendships' are just a bunch of weakling plotting together, anyway, trying to overthrow those rightfully above them... there's nothing more disgraceful than playing dirty and hurting those more talented and strong!
Humanity has all but gone soft. Do you really believe they could rebuild? At most, the stronger ones could survive.
